Nutrition by MD is a professional platform offering personalized, evidence-based nutrition support tailored to each individual’s health needs. Our work is grounded in one to one consultations and thoughtfully designed nutrition plans, guided by the understanding that there is no universal approach to health and nutrition. We provide medical nutrition therapy for a wide range of health conditions, weight management programs, nutritional support for oncology patients, as well as counseling for pregnant and breastfeeding women. A key area of our expertise is the use of the ketogenic diet in the management of drug-resistant epilepsy. This work is supported by extensive clinical experience in guiding children and their families through every stage of the process. OUR TEAM

Dr. Fatima Gondžo-Velić
Dr. Fatima Gondžo-Velić is a medical doctor, a specialist in nutrition, and a pediatric resident dedicated to improving health through expert, personalized, and sustainable nutrition.
She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sarajevo. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in preventive medicine, clinical nutrition, and working with vulnerable patients. In 2023, she earned the title of Specialist in Nutrition after defending her final thesis, in which she researched Medical nutrition therapy for breast cancer.
She is currently completing her specialization in pediatrics, as she finds the greatest professional fulfillment in working with children. As nutrition consultant she works in Immuno Center.
A particular area of her professional interest is working with children suffering from pharmacoresistant epilepsy, where she applies the ketogenic diet as a form of medical therapy. She considers this aspect of her work one of the most responsible, humane, and fulfilling parts of her career as a nutrition specialist, as it demonstrates how properly guided nutrition can be a key factor in improving the quality of life of a child and their family.
Through clinical practice, professional lectures, and advisory work, Dr. Fatima cultivates an approach that integrates modern medicine, nutritional expertise, an individualized approach, and deep empathy.
Her professional mission is clear—to make proper nutrition simple, understandable and accessible to everyone, especially children and families facing the challenges of chronic and complex diseases.

Dr. Safija Softić-Namas
Dr. Safija Softić-Namas is a medical doctor and a specialist in emergency medicine. She has a particular professional interest in nutrition and preventive health. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sarajevo in 2010 and earned her master’s degree in nutrition at the University of Tuzla, where her research focused on the impact of night work on dietary and lifestyle habits and the overall health of employees working night shifts.
After completing her medical studies, she worked for three years as a lecturer of vocational subjects at the Public Institution Secondary Medical School Sarajevo. She was also engaged as a nutrition expert at CEI Nahla, where she designed and led numerous educational programs, lectures, and workshops focused on proper nutrition and overall health. For two years, she served as a professional associate in nutrition at the Immuno Center.
She is a frequent guest in various media outlets, actively promoting health education and proper nutrition as fundamental pillars of disease prevention. She currently works as a nutrition consultant at the Alea dr. Kandić Polyclinic.
She is also engaged as an external lecturer in First Aid at the Faculty of Medicine of the International University of Sarajevo.
Dr. Safija actively participates in numerous professional meetings, scientific symposia, and other educational activities, continuously enhancing her professional competencies.
She is permanently employed at the Institute for Emergency Medical Services of Sarajevo Canton, where she works as a specialist in emergency medicine.
